Brief Description

MAJOR FUNCTION

  1. Provides leadership, guidance, and instructional excellence in administering plant safety and health programs
  2. Responsible for the development and implementation of Safety and Health policies, procedures, and programs
  3. Oversight of safety practices, involving associate participation and education
  4. Lead incident and accident investigation and implement corrective action in a timely manner
  5. Implement daily auditing process to collect Leading/Lagging Indicators for preventative action
  6. Implement Residual Risk Reduction (R3) projects
  7. Responsible for training and preparedness of First Responder Team
  8. Responsible for Plant Emergency Preparedness procedures
  9. Track, compile and report safety numbers for plant, corporate and governmental review
  10. Oversee safety process during plant construction and equipment installation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Develop safety training material to be included in work instructions
  2. Perform first aid as required including transporting injured employees for medical treatment
  3. Review accident, injury reports and accident investigations and perform root cause analysis
  4. Enforce and report safety violations to senior leadership
  5. Prepare or approve requisitions for first aid and safety supplies
  6. Contact outside sources for Safety training, safety evaluations of
  7. Assist the HR department in New Hire Safety Training and Worker’s Compensation

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes other duties as assigned by senior leadership
PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S preferred
  2. Five (5) plus years of manufacturing experience (minimum)
  3. OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Certifications

Organizational Relationships

  1. Reports directly to the Plant Manager
  2. Accountable to the General Manager of Human Resources for all phases of
  3. Advises, consults, and coordinates with:
    1. Senior Management:
    2. Middle Management and Supervisors, Team Leaders and Team Members as needed
